CHICK PEA CHICKEN SOUP

This soup is High protein , low calorie curated for post bariatric patients so that other than supplements they can meet their RDA for protein. This Nutritious well balanced soup counts as a meal if you enjoy a generous portion.

Nutritional Info :

Comforting and Nutritious , this chick pea soup carries great nutritional value of High protein and fiber. Enjoy this relish either in lunch but preferably as a dinner meal.

 

Ingredients :

  • ½ cup washed and soaked overnight chick peas
  • ½ cup Chicken Broth
  • freshly grounded black pepper powder (a pinch or 2 )
  • Parsley (for flavor)
  • Salt , to taste

 

Method of preparation:

  • Pressure cook the chick peas for 20 mins in the cooker.
  • Meanwhile, make either chicken broth to add to the chick pea mixture.
  • For creamy soup, mash half the chick peas.
  • Once the chick peas are done, mix it with vegetable or chicken broth.
  • Simmer and cook for 5 mins and add some parsley.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot and enjoy the creamy chick pea soup.

Note:

  • For clear soup , mash and strain the chick peas and the chicken broth and mix both the mixture.
  • We can also use vegetable broth for variation or vegetarians can try with vegetable broth using your preferred veggies.
